John Tidball joined Speaks Law as a litigation attorney bringing with him a diverse set of professional experiences from which to draw in representing our clients. While still in law school, over 25 years ago, John began working his first case during an internship with a small firm in Raleigh. By the time the case was resolved, John, then working as a licensed attorney, had uncovered and established wrongful death claims against a municipality, its building inspectors, as well as the landlord, arising out of a rental house fire in which a family of five, with children ages 7, 5, and 3, lost their lives. At the time the fire was one of the deadliest residential fires in North Carolina history.
That case cemented his desire to serve people who have been injured or wronged even when facing the most formidable opposition. After establishing himself as a skilled litigator in Wake County, he joined the firm of Teague Campbell Dennis and Gorham, LLP. His practice there took him throughout the State and primarily focused on commercial and professional liability defense.
In addition to his litigation background, John is experienced in the business world. His professional experience includes work in risk management, human resources, contract negotiations and corporate mergers and acquisitions while serving as the Chief Executive Officer for a mid-sized, closely held company.
John now enjoys using his litigation and commercial business experience to help our clients in their fight to be compensated for injuries they have sustained.
John received his undergraduate degree from the University of Montana, and worked briefly as a teacher and counselor for at-risk youth, before attending and earning his J.D. degree from Campbell University.
